Roe-disêi Fêqê (/ˈroe/ /diˈsɘi/ [permanent] [crystal]) is a subtropical Town located in the Ëradîvë Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Roe-disêi Fêqê is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Roe-disêi Fêqê was founded by Glîv Dyeshê, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Roe-disêi Fêqê has a yearly average temperature of 23°C (73°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 28°C (82°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 18°C (64°F). Roe-disêi Fêqê receives an average of 260 cm/y (102 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Roe-disêi Fêqê covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 1356 m (4448 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Roe-disêi Fêqê was founded in time immemorial, reportedly some time durring the early 7th century, by Glîv Dyeshê. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Glîv Dyeshê.

Roe-disêi Fêqê was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 7th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Roe-disêi Fêqê is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber and earth construction, with most buildigns first floors resembling mounds of earth, with subsequent floors appearing as elaborate log cabins, with each building forming a tiered pyramid of sorts fromed from the stack of rectangular, peek roofed cabins. Most wooden bracing, support, and trim is carved with decorative knotwork, and the larger structures even feature painted trim which emphasises the knotwork.

Roe-disêi Fêqê is buildings are arranged arround a network of broad packed earth streets which form a diagonal shaped grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town emploies a series of defencive earthworks and fences to provide minimal protection against wild beasts and smaller groups of intelegent foes. Unfortuantly, these somewhat suffishent are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Roe-disêi Fêqê's natural decorations nor waterways.

Roe-disêi Fêqê has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

While Roe-disêi Fêqê might ostensibly be ruled by some other power, real control lies with the senior members of the local craft and labor guilds. Their decisions have the practical weight of law, and much of their time and effort is spent squeezing out competitors and parceling out economic opportunities in the community. Some guilds might have little or nothing to do with their original trade, and now exist purely as shells for political influence.

Roe-disêi Fêqê's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known primarily for its use of abstraction and simplicity. Clean lines, right angles, and primary colors characterized this aesthetic and art movement expressed via architecture and paintings. Its design ethos allows only primary colors and non-colors, only squares and rectangles, only straight and horizontal or vertical lines. Vertical and horizontal lines are positioned in layers or planes that do not intersect, thereby allowing each element to exist independently and unobstructed by other elements. These seemingly impossible principals for an architectural style coalesces into structures which most experts find hard to put into words. It is not that their geometry is impossible, but rather the style's attempt at producing works only describable visually was most successful..

The quake brought ruin to Roe-disêi Fêqê, which lost 240 people, 244 livestock, and 52 buildings in the earthquake. The day of the quake is remembered by many as Anguish's Day.
